VerbTrainers for the iPhone and iPads

Spanish, French, German and Italian Verbtrainers are available for the iPhone and iPad.
The screenshots below show Verbos, the Spanish Verbtrainer; the Italian, French and German Verbtrainers are identical except, of course, they have different verbs. Scroll down to step through the Verbtrainer's capabilities.

The images shown are using an iPhone 15 Pro Max - the biggest iPhone screen. The Verbtrainer apps work exactly the same on all sizes of iPhones and iPads - the screen just looks slightly different because of the different size. Functionality and operation are the same on all devices.

Drill Mode

The first time you start your Verbtrainer app after downloading it from the App Store, you'll see a "Quickstart" view, with a short introduction to using your app. Tapping the blue button at the bottom dismisses this Quickstart, and you won't see it again when you start up again. 2. You can swipe the infinitive in the left-hand column from right to left. A full swipe removes the infinitive; a slow swipe reveals a "Delete" button; tap that and the infinitive will be removed.
    Editing an existing verb list

    Touching an existing verb list on the verb list view allows you to edit a verb list. Here, a touch on the "Top 20 Verbs" line brings up this page.
    Creating a new verb list

    Touching the '+' sign to create a new verb list, you'll see this view. It has an empty field for the verb list name, no infinitive in the "Verbs in List" column, and all the available infinitives in the right-hand column.

    Add or remove verbs from the list by touching the infinitive. The selected verbs will appear in the "Verbs in List" column, and show a checkmark in the infinitives column. You delete an infinitive from the list by swiping right-to-left on the infinitive in the "Verbs in List' column, of unchecking it in the Infinitives column on the right.

    Here's a list with five infinitives selected.

    You can filter the infinitives list by touching the search box at the top of the right-hand column and entering letters. Verbos will limit the infinitives to words beginning with the letters you enter. Dismiss the keyboard by touching anywhere outside the seatch box, or touching the "return" key on the keyboard.

    Now enter a name for your verb list and save the verb list. Touch Save Changes. If you use the name of an existong verb list, Verbtrainer will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing verb list or return to save with a new name.

    After creating a verb list, you can use the Settings -> Drill Source to select that verb list. When the Select... screen appears, you'll see all the verb lists and can choose from that list by tapping the verb list yu want to use. Drills will then use only verb from that list for all the modes: Drill, test auto Auto. Tense, ending, type and person/number criteria you've set will still apply, now only to verbs from the list.

    After selecting A List from the Select view, you can see that the Drill view shows, in the upper-right hand corner, that you're using the "-ir infinitives" verb list only.'
    Settings -> Locale (Verbos only)

    In Verbos, you can select between having tense names reflect those used in Spain (Castillian) and those used in South America
    Settings -> Audio Options

    Settings -> Conjugations

    The Conjugation Setting button allows you to select an infinitive and see the full conjugation for it. A list of infinitives appears. You can filter the infinitives by typing in the search bar at the top; the infinitives list will show only infinitives that start with the letters you enter. For example, if you type an "ab" in the search bar, only infinitives starting with "ab" will appear in the list. This gives you the ability to quicky find a specific infinitive. Touch on an infinitve in the list to see the full conjugation.

    After seleting "abrasar, the full conjugation will be shown."
